I voted for the Italian Job.... but the original one! you know the one in 'Italy'... anyway the best car chase scene ever was none of the 'above' ..... 'The blues brothers' chase secene.... remember that one, it set a record for the most totaled cars in one chase......

I was thinkin about car chases today... and especially the new ones, like "transporter" and "gone in 60 secs" and well 'YES' they look cool, but its all computer graphics and cars on pulleys.... Thats why i think the classic ones are the greatest, 100s of stunt drivers all capable of making mistakes.... edge of the seat shit!....

Th original Italalian job... well its a pommy movie( ) filmed in the streets of Turin, Staring Michael Caine... ummm made in 1969 i think! anyway they use original minis for the heist.... all goes well until the very end, where they dump the minis' over a cliff face *tear*... they eventually loose control of the bus and are left balancing over the cliff edgein the bus, ofcourse the Gold is at one end and them at the other.. So if they try and get the Gold the bus will fall, if they walk out the door they will survive but loose the Gold! Cliff hanger! and thats how it ends! Stereophonics ripped the idea for a video clip, a couple of years ago!
Transporter, new movie... starring 'Turkish' out of "Snatch'.. Has a cool BMW chase scene through the Back streets of France as the criminals leave a bank job! Look here
Both tops movies!!

What about the greats: BULLET, steve mcqueen: 68(?) Mustang RONDEVOUS, (ok not a chase scene) Film maker with 16 minutes of film left. 6 in the morning, Rome italy, and a standard FAZZA Nissan have made their version of it using the 350z, in prague. MUST SEE VEIWING! |

The best movie car chase scene is easily The Blues Brothers and a close second/third would be Smokey and the bandit 1 and 2. |

Has anyone ever seen a real chase, that wasn't on tv!.... i remember about 3 years ago sitting at the bus stop seeing a wrx flying down Bagot rd doing atleast 180km/h at like 5 in the afternoon! i just thought he was in a hurry... lol but the pursuit car was atleast 800m behind! By the time i heard the sirens it had flown past, it was only a ford.. so there was no way he was catchin him!

The original gone in 60 seconds (1973 I think) is 1 hour and 10 min car chase blast! No computer graphics or special effects in the original. How to destroy a Mustang in an hour or so. Nothing like the latest version. Check it out if u haven't seen it! |
