Performance Statistics Top Rankings
Power Output: 152 wheel hp
Torque: 385 Nm
0 - 100km/hr: 7.3
Quarter Mile: 14.8

Performance Comments:

Thats 151hp @ the wheels, not sure how efficient the drivetrain is so that will have to do, view the dyno sheet were i got the figures from in my photo album. Also quarter mile and 0-100 times were achieved with a gtech timer on a flat road, clutch has been slipping alot, hopefully with a new clutch with upgraded pressure plate i can settle in somewhere in the mid-14's. Performance figures are with the stock turbo running 14psi.

yeah bro she goes hard,i had it back 4 2 dayz b4 the box blew it was 2nd hand though,i'm runnin 13psi i need bigger injectors though and i'm lookin. the dyno was alright i reckon it'll be better with a recond g'box it was slippin out of 3rd. i'll post my sheets soon. i wanna end up runnin at least 13s. you got sweet ride to bro and a bit of a clan with you. where bouts r u.

im in sydney...

i dont think 13s should be a problem, you should get urself a walbro high pressure pump or something before injectors.. they always limit flow first... also if as far as injectors go get some mazda rx7 series 4/5 turbo (550cc) or na (460cc) injectors, the stockers are 330cc if memory serves me correctly so either would be a substantial upgrade... heaps around too... go for high impedeance ones tho as they come in both forms on rx7s

got myself some na rx7 injectors and a walbro pump... plus the IC.. just waiting on the piping to get setup and then im off to tune the chip with the new fuel system.. should be in the 13 too with any luck cool.gif

hey man i was wondering if you could help me out coz u seem to be in the know,i've got my tx5 in at mazfix gettin a 500hp fuel pump and a malpasi fuel regulator.i wanna get bigger injectors too do you know what size the standards are and what will fit on a tx. any info would be sweet plz send to blinky_blitz@hotmail.com thanks bro

blinky the mx6 and tx5 share the same engine so rx7 injectors will do fine, should be able to source them from around 60 - 80 each.

Nice, good to see another person not scared to post dyno sheets, I guess I will have to find mine (my car hasn't been one the dyno for 2 years and this engine hasn't gotten much of my intrest lately). Hey, whats the header wrap like at reducing under bonnet temp. I've heard that it can reduce the life of your extractors, but I'm gonna have hassles with cooling so I guess some of you turbo boys may have some tips. smile.gif

Hey Van454, it will definately reduce the extractors life, by how much i suppose it depends on the type of material used. The steam pipes used for my exhaust manifold are quite thick so there is little chance that they will rust through anytime soon. Just recently i pulled off the exhaust wrap (have to reinstall the manifold due to leaks) and there was only some powdered surface rust (this was after about a year) so for me the reduced life isnt a concern.

As far as cooling is concerned it really is amazing, for turbo charged applications (or even na really) its important to keep those gases flowing as quickly as possible. That way boost doesnt drop off and theres more pressure to extract o2 on the intake side, so keeping things as hot as possible in there is definately a bonus.

Prior to the heat wrap it was unbarable to stand infront of the bay but after the install you can put your hand as close as a centimetre off of the manifold without breaking into a sweat. Performance went up considerably but thats hardly a surprise considering just how hot things use to be. I definately recommend it if you need to reduce under bonnet temps.. and who doesnt?

I plan on throwing in an additional heat shield as well, and maybe source a heat beanie for the turbo, cheap and easy mods that imho will convert into more hp and reliability.

Hey, I didn't end up using the header rap, you have to pull the motor halfway out to change the headers so I thought it might be a hassle if it reduces the life of the headers. I don't know if you've seen my profile lately but my 454 is in, and you were right it is awesome to drive. I did have some cooling issues but I found that the thermo fans from the EF-AU falcons are cheap ($220 brand new) and really pull some air. It was a bit of hassle to modify the shround to fit, but it has cured my probs. Any updates on your car? Have you fitted your front mount IC? I suppose that it will mean you can get away with a bit more boost. smile.gif
