Engine Work:

At the moment the engine is still a standard 2.0L. It is going in to Daltons next week to install a boost controller and to be boosted .

Exhaust System:

It has a 2 1/2 inch exhaust from the turbo to the back.

Intake System:

Intake System is basically standard but I have put a 3inch pipe from it to below the front bumper. I want to change it to a later TX5 Turbo model.

Stereo System:

Phillips Head Unit, 6 inch rear Sony Xplods, and 4 inch front standard it all came with the car.

Suspension:

Suspension on the front is the standard Auto adjusting suspension and on the back i have replaced them with Monroe Gt gas.

Turbo/Intercooler:

Turbo is standard, and it has a Blitz turbo timer also has a TurboXS boost controller>

i cant really tell the ride height cos there isnt a side on pic of ur ride, but im pretty sure i saw you the other day..cant remember where though

Posted by: LOW_TX5 on June 16, 2005 [ Car Profile ]

It is standard height except for it has sagged. I haven't lowered it yet because i have to replace the front AASuspension and i haven't got the dough for it yet. I spent the money on getting it boosted.

hey - qik-tx5 here - got a new account and took my car off cos i bought an 89 MX6 Turbo. what are Dalton's doing to boost it? have told you what mod's theyre going to do?

Posted by: LOW_TX5 on June 21, 2005 [ Car Profile ]

They are installing a turboXS boost controller on because you can boost it by half a pound and they reckon it is the best one to use, aslo they are removing the turbo cuttoff, setting my mixture's and Dyno tunning it.

Posted by: TRBOMX on June 28, 2005 [ Car Profile ]

ahh cool, yeah im taking my mx into them within the next 3 weeks to get it tuned on the dyno. my mate gets his series 3 rx7 tuned on their dyno and it only costs $95 so should be all cool...

Sorry for taking so long to reply, but i don't think it was me. There is two more exactly the same getting around in geelong but they have differrent wheels.

Does anyone know of someone who has put a SR20DET into a Telstar and what did they have to do to convert it, are there engine mounts out there for them?

Posted by: MXSTYL on August 9, 2005 [ Car Profile ]

nah im not sure mate, might be hard cos sr20 is rwd isnt it? there's a guy in geelong with and old skool toyota corolla with an sr20 in it lol, goes nuts!

I am changing it to normal injection and i was wondering what wiring do i need to get it running........example ( injectors....throttlebody are they a seperate wiring loom then the rest of the wiring in the engine bay? This is a picture of an Australian 1986 Mazda 626 with the same 2.0 litre the only difference is the distributor is at the front of the head near the timming gear where as te TX5 is at the back near the tranny. I am picking up the inlet manifold and plenium on Wednesday.

This is a Canadian/American Mazda 626 non-turbo...

replyig about the sr20 into a telstar.
they have three types of sr20 blocks..

one is for reawheel
one is for front wheel
one is for all wheel drive.
its because the gearbox setup is different so the blocks have to be different apparently.

your best bet is to find a front wheel drive block u mite have to do some modifications to your engine mounts tho.. i dont really no. but what i do know is if u had a lancer front wheel drive u could slot it straight in!!! but then again why would u want a mitsubishi in the first place.. ford rules!!!!:P

i think u can get sr20 front wheel drive from pulsars KKK's so find a smashed one thats got a good engine and your set. a wrecker mite have one, their fast cars so some is bound to write one off if in the worng hands. lol

i hope this helps u a bit.
