Nope not a mistake, I said MX5. I am doing a turbo setup on a MX5 for a friend of mine. This little car is going to haul nuts. I will use all the stock parts from my car, and it will run about 9psi for now. It doesn't sound like much to most people who are famialiar with the 6 and it's stock turbo, But when you put that turbo on a 1.6L motor and run 9 psi and take into consideration the weight of the car, well

they are great fun little cars, conversions here in australia have actually been quite common, from a commercial point of view anywayz..
AVO offer a turbo upgrade, drive in drive out, maybe their kit might give you an idea of how to go about the setup, try googlin them
also some workshop in melbourne, oz, actually went all out with the mx5, they had a segment on an early serious performance video which included an 13b rotary conversion and lexus 4ltr v8 conversion, both went like crazy, i believe easy 12's if i can remember correctly
anywayz keep us posted on the progress red, maybe you could document a generalised na to turbo conversion in the tech articles section |

Yeah seems down here there seems to be a few of them.
You can't forget the factory MX5 SP either, which is factory turbo and 158kw or something like that. Shame its soo pricey though.
The cars you are talking about mx68u are known as the bullet roadsters. They are supposed to be releasing one, which is going to be power by a choice of a NA or blown lexus 4.0litre V8. Hope they go through with it |
