Hello everyone,
I have just setup our very own IRC channel.
For those of you who dont know what IRC is, it is a chat program, to communicate realtime with each other. You are able to download this program in form of mIRC from: http://www.mirc.com. Simply install the program and off you go.
The server u gotta dial into is any AUstnet server (preferrable the AU or NZ one as access will be faster).
#totalRPM is the channel u gotta join (if u r using command line: /join #totalRPM)
For those of yous who can't install programs on your computer for whatever reason or have no idea about IRC whatsoever, I created an interface, through which you can connect directly to the very same chatroom, by simply clicking this link.
I hope we can integrate this interface as a permanent part into this webpage later on.
Please use the same Nick Name in IRC as you use on this board as that will make things easier. You will need to have Java Virtual Machine installed on your computer. If you dont have it simply download it from here once: Sun Java. You will find it in the download section. It is and automated install ... as simple as that

Webpage Interface:
Ok while running some tests i found that you cannot connect to the chatroom if u r sitting behind a firewall.
If you do not have access to changing firewall settings, you cant do mucha bout it 
If you do have access to firewall setting, allow ALL communications through PORT 6667.
Easiest way is to turn of the Firewall alltogether.
Also if you are using Windows2000 or WindowsXP and have the internal firewalls activated it will not work either. Switch them off (how to do so: use HELP files)
(Note: Some firewalls actually come up with PopUp windows asking you to allow communication through certain ports, if that is the case, which i doubt allow it)
mIRC & standalone communication programs:
Here is a similar problem but not as bad.
Again if you are using firewalls you will have trouble connection.
In this case you have three ways around it:
1. setup and automated authentication through IRC client software (under options > firewall; how to set up: use help files)
2. set up your firewall to accept communications on PORTS: 6667, 6668, 6669, 7000, 8000.
3. get rid of your firewall all together (that again includes Windows2000 and WindowsXP firewalls!)

grrr ... bloody server crashed ... i loaded the files on a different server and tested them and it seems ok now ... try that link again ...

great stuff evil, thanks for setting the chat room up... i havent had the time to bloody scratch myself in the past week!
ill integrate a link into the nav bar on the left when i have a couple minutes free and axs to the internet on my home pc (might be a while  ) cant verify the link here as this comp doesnt have mirc installed
