i was considering turbo'ing my 88 TX5, then i considered selling it any buying the turbo variant. i've weighed up the pros and cons of each and i've decided that i'll definately go with the turbo conversion.
i was wondering what they best way to go about this would be. Do i:
- go to someone (a turbo specialist im guessing, and just tell them to turbo it for me (sounds expensive) - find all the required parts at wreckers and the like and then take it to a turbo specialist and ask them to use those parts to turbo it - other method (???)
if i decided to find all the parts myself at wreckers and stuff, can anyone tell me exactly what parts i will need? is someone able to give me a FULL list if possible, thanks |

it would prob b cheaper to get a tx5 turbo rather than doing a conversion. if u do a conversion u will need full engine coz the turbo has stronger internals and different compression, gear box and drivetrain, intercooler, all the piping, turbo computer, wiring harnesses then the labour to put it in. i'd say to buy a tx5 turbo. |

token is right.. conversion will be way too expensive, especially considering how cheap these cars are now. If you really want more power maybe a nos kit can help, it will set you back probably a grand or so.
Otherwise just stick with the na and tweak up a little more, try advancing the timing a little and get a set of extractors.. if you still need more power then a cam can really change things... |
