This is Mixy, my first MX6. She's so sweet, especially when she makes that happy chirping sound as she goes into second. My very first Mazda, and I think I'm hooked. Purrs like a kitten, geared like a motorbike, but without the prospect of fleas or skin grafts. GE10L1 specs off the factory floor are: Engine DOHC 24 valve V6 2.5 litre EGI. 5 speed manual. 4WS, 15" alloy wheels, rear spoiler, front fog lights, integrated A/C, cruise control, elec. steel sunroof & windows.

Nothing too exciting, but fixed (100). Calipers painted red (40).

Replaced inner CV boot, outer CV joint (160)

Distributor - ignition module/coil replaced (700), oxygen sensors replaced (200)

Hi-flow cat, 2.25" stainless cat back, straight through hot dog & resonator, twin chrome tips

Tinting all-round (0), alarm & immobiliser (690), keyless boot release (60), custom plates (370), replacement spoiler light (150), regassed boot struts (66), replacement windscreen washer t-piece (1), red wiper blades (10), red valve caps (10), 4200K hi/lo beams (40), white LED parkers (10)

Car seat covers, floor mats, seatbelt covers (60), red LED interior lighting throughout (40), custom dash mat (45)

HR Racing 117 rims 17" wrapped in Yokohama AVS ES100 205/45/17 (2240)

Head: JVC KD SHX705, Amp: Clarion APX400-4, Sub: 12" Eclipse SW6100 series (amp'd), Front splits: 5.25" Eclipse SC8352 (amp'd), Rears: 6x9 4-way Eclipse SE8493, Sound deadening mats & baffles in doors, all new cabling.

I think they broke the mold when they made the 2nd gen mx6, nice lines gr8 engine

I think you're right there.. the more I see them, the more I just think they're sweet I'll be sure to whisper your kind words to her when she gets a wax. Red's beautiful but silver (like your baby - which is also very sweet, btw!) would have been my second choice, followed by blue.

I hope your ticking isn't indicative of impending explosion - any little box under your car with red numbers ticking down, maybe wired to your ignition?

I think its the Friction gear or the lifters, I just dont have the inclination now to spend 400$ just to find out whats wrong. without parts(thats just for taking the Intake manifold and Valve covers off)

Apart from that still love it
