Doesnt look too bad mate....Not registered yet??? Definately go with the smaller exhaust stick with a 3 inch dump pipe but get 2.5 the rest of the way...When I was shopping for my exhaust I got told that 3inch causes problems on the newer ones with the comp shutting down and stuff... (since then Ive been in a few tx3 of friends and the car comp is always shutting down and they dont know why smile.gif i tell em its to do with the exhaust no one belives me). But yeah she looks nice..mite be in need of a respray but hey ya get that arent just about all older cars.

nah not registered yet , been finishing off bits and pieces to it , just added a new heavy duty clutch , turbo timer , boost gauge , new cooler piping brakes. i want to add the k&n pod filter as da main filter but i dunno wat to do bout the air-flow meter do i need it to run nice or do i need a aftermarket comp ? The orginal dump pipe is totally fukd the guy i got this car off smacked the pipe with a hammer cause it was hitting the alternator , sum cunts to cheap to do a job properly but anyway im working on making a custom exhaust mainfold so the pipe with flow nicely into the exhaust , which im hoping to change soon to a 2'1/2 inch with a 3in tip or turbo muffler. where can i get a used or new bumper ? and an o2 sensor i tried ford but they said there absolete now.

o2 sensor the best palce is autobarn 65 bucks I brought one last week...for a new bumber try pick a part or something I know they have a heap of the older model tx5 there...and for the pod ya need an adaptor plate that allows the air sensor to still work ya pod just plugs/clamps right into the plate...autobarn make em up for you for 50bucks and usually include the K&N pod aswell for around 90-100 bucks.

Mod's id try are alarm system, boost controller and probably a good set up rims even the ones off a newer tx5 looks good.. but remmeber too that the pod and gauge will probably have to come off in order for you to register the car...cause im pretty sure aswell as a roadworthy you have to take it to vicroads to be inspected

i need sum suggestions for da cooler it hits the themo fan , and the dump pipe is bent on the top so there is air-flow restriction but if i get another 1 made it has to fit into 3in exhaust and can;t hit the alternator , the 1 i have is bent cause sum dumb cunt made it without thinkin bout the alternator being rite next to it. i was told wreckers mite have sumthing , not sure wat to do.

mmm interesstign I say go see an exhaust specialist first see what they can make up...those guys can do amazing shit...ya can get maybe a 2.5 inch dump with an adaptor piece that fits the rest of the exhaust so that would be okay...maybe post a few pics of something so we can see how much space your talkin about.

as you can see , the cooler is very close to the reciever and the themo fan , but i found by removing a lil plastic bar it gave the cooler more room at the top of bumper and i found using rubber spaces made the cooler sit a good 1in away from themo fan. , also ppls just bought anotha tx5 this 1 will be added on here very soon it is a 1989 model , red with silver , stock rims , tint windows and sunroof , stock cooler, turbosmart type1 bov etc coming online soon!

I,ve got an 86 TX5 Turbo and i was wondering how you changed the intake. Also is that the stock turbo and how much to highflow it.

i took my stock IHI turbo to MTQ engeerning spealists in laverton , they change 800 to recondition turbo's , 2nd hand turbo's i think are 1500 , brand new start from 2000 and up depending on what you want. to highflow was 450 cause i got new bearings as well put in , for the older tx5 is good to get the turbo lookd at as they build up with alot of carbon.

As for the intake , i left the standard cylinder filter in and made a 3in hole in the bottom of it , and i attached sum flexy tube that i got from autobarn for 30bux and than used black slastic to attach it to the bottom of cylinder , also you can buy pod filter adapter from autobarn , which allows you to keep the airflow meter where it is and just attach a pod filter with no problems , but i also found that only selective autobarns sell ford parts , due to the growing number in imported cars.

just to let ppl know , when attaching a pod filter not only do you need the air-flow meter adpater but you also need a bung which a vacumn line connects to , i put a pod on my new 89 model tx5 and it ran like shit, heated up fast and ran really bad , so make sure you get the adapter , bung when fitting a pod .

*lol* mate i believe this may only be for the earlier model...all i did for mine whe I had the pod on was block the air/vacum hose up. It ran fine with no issues..
