This might sound silly but i want some expert opinions

Im about to buy a small but effective new sound system for my TX and i want to know if you rekon this system would be ok, kick it or just plain ****

Im getting

Sony Xplod head unit 4/50w
A Boss Audio 10 inch 800W Sub (In a sealed unit)
A pair of Boss Audio 6 1/2 inch splits in the front (with crossovers)
A 1000W Boss Audio Amp.

Like i said its not huge but id stil like to get other opinions. If you have some better ideas

i've heard that boss audio are a fairly cheap and a low quality brand, it seemed to be the general concencous at pf at any rate.

if you want your system to sound good i've alwayz believed that you should focus on a decent amp, schnieder can be had for relatively cheap and are of great quality for the price so look out for it smile.gif

Also a 10inch is good but a 12inch would be much better, JL Audio have a fairly affordable and hi quality sub that will be worth checking out also...

As far as the head unit consider getting one with MP3 playback.. JVC have some great units and you will be able to fit 150 tracks on a CD... its a nice option... they are starting from around $250 these days believe it or not

also i might move this to the ICE forum.. you will get more replies

My mate hate a decent stereo system installed in his car.

It was made up of:

Pioneer Head Unit (52x4?) Last Years High End Model
Jaycar Electronics 2 Way Front Speaker (6 inch)
Jaycar Electronics Amplifiers x 2
Jaycar Electronics Custom Sub Box and 12 inch Subwoofer

The guys that installed the system said they've never heard anything quite like it. It absolutely cranks, usually for his car you would need two 12 inch Subs, but they said one was sufficient.

All up this type of set-up, including installation cost aroun 2 grand.
