Jackohhh: Hey, i own an xe falcon and i want to install some tachos and gauges, mines a gl so it comes with the bodgy econogauge and i wana know how to install a revs tacho, i know u have to find the right wire, but does anyone know if the wire is actually there? thanks
SikXC: Hey There Jack,
Yes, in some XE's the wire is there, its a pink wire, it should run off your coil. If it isnt there, take it to an auto electrician, cos i dont know how to do it.
HoonsTuffXE: If the wire isn't there, run it off the negitive on your coil. Make sure if it's a autometer or similar to clip whatever wire to make it rev for a 6 pack or don't clip anything if it's for an 8.
-------------------- WHOHOO ... got my opens today ... as much as it would matter to me anyway ... and 96 in the ash tray! |

Negative coil on the XE is the only option. With later models such as EF/EL you can just connect the wire to the correct pin on the diagnostics terminal.
If any one needs help with this then give us a shout, I've done it a couple of times.
