My TX is playing up on mi
I noticed last week that underneath my hood a grinding noise started to appear. I checked under my wheels to see my CV joint boot was split and the CV grease had covered all the way back down the Chasis (Nice look to) i put the new boot on re greased her checked the CV (it was fine) lots of oil in the gear box. But the noise still persisted. It cant be a bearing either coz i only replaced both of them a few months ago. Any ideas?

Dirty might have gotten into the CV joint itself, and is causing your grinding. It's possible that a replacment is needed. |

If its not the dirt in the joint like hoon said, it's likely to be either the drive shaft it self is warped creating a irregular turning angle, or the spline on the drive shaft where it enters the gearbox is worn letting it slip and grind.
Just replace both drive shafts with brand newies. Its the quickest way or you could pick up a couple from the wreckers.
